Interview Preparation

Walk in knowing what they'll ask

Most people prepare for interviews by reading generic question lists. RozgarWise generates five questions you are likely to face in that specific role — each with a model answer drawn from your own experience.

Prepare for an Interview

How it works

Interview preparation is included in every CV + JD analysis — it isn't a separate purchase.

01

Upload CV and job description

The questions depend on both — your background and the role's actual requirements.

02

Get five likely questions

Drawn from the responsibilities in the job description and the gaps in your profile.

03

Rehearse with a model answer

Each answer references your real experience, so you're rehearsing your story — not memorising someone else's.

The four kinds of question you'll actually face

Almost every interview question is a variation on one of four themes. Recognising which one you're being asked is half the battle, because each needs a different shape of answer.

  • Capability — "Walk me through how you'd approach X." They're testing whether you can do the job. Answer with method, not adjectives.
  • Evidence — "Tell me about a time you…" They want proof you've done it before. This is where structure matters most.
  • Gap — "I notice you haven't worked with Y." They've spotted something missing. Acknowledge it honestly, then bridge to the closest thing you have done.
  • Motivation — "Why this role? Why us?" They're testing whether you'll stay. Specifics about the company beat enthusiasm every time.

Structure your evidence answers

For any "tell me about a time" question, the most reliable structure is situation, task, action, result — usually shortened to STAR. Set the scene briefly, say what you were responsible for, explain what you personally did, and finish with the outcome. The most common mistake is spending most of the answer on background and running out of time before the result.

Where you can, attach a number to the result. "Reduced report preparation from two days to three hours" lands harder than "improved efficiency" — and it gives the interviewer something concrete to remember you by.

Handling the gap question honestly

If a job asks for something you haven't done, you will usually be asked about it. Pretending otherwise rarely survives follow-up questions. The stronger move is to name the gap plainly, then show the nearest adjacent experience and how quickly you've picked up similar things before.

This is also why it's worth knowing your gaps before the interview rather than discovering them in the room. The CV + JD analysis lists them explicitly, alongside the ATS keywords your CV is missing.

A note for the Pakistani market

Interviews here vary widely. A family-run business, a multinational's Karachi office, and a remote role for a European employer will each run a very different process — from a single conversation with the owner to several structured rounds with a competency scorecard.

Two things travel well across all of them. First, prepare specific questions to ask at the end; it is one of the clearest signals of genuine interest. Second, be ready to discuss salary expectations — being asked early is common, and it's much easier to answer well if you've already benchmarked what the role should pay.

Common questions

Do I need to buy interview preparation separately?

No. The five questions and model answers are part of every CV + JD analysis, which costs 2 credits in total. There is no separate charge.

How are the questions chosen?

They're generated from the specific job description you upload and your own CV — weighted towards the responsibilities the role emphasises and the gaps between the two. That's why they differ every time, rather than being a fixed list.

Should I memorise the model answers?

No — and it tends to be obvious when someone has. Use them to decide which experiences to talk about and how to structure them. The words should be yours on the day.

Can I prepare for the same role more than once?

Yes. Running the analysis again after updating your CV produces fresh questions. Every past analysis also stays available from your dashboard, so you can revisit preparation before the interview without paying again.
